Here’s how to make your homemade mincemeat…
What you need
225g bramley apples
125g candied peel
175g demerara sugar
225g vegetarian suet
1 orange, juice and zest
1 tsp mixed spice
How you do it
Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Leave to infuse for a few hours then mix again. Store in sterilised jars in a cool dark cupboard until needed.
