Gluten free meals have never been part of my daily life, but with having a friend who is Coeliac sometimes the choice for a lunch or meal out can be challenging. We have discovered some top spots around Cornwall that we can recommend to cater for the gluten-free diner. You don’t have to stick to a boring jacket potato now when out and about, or holidaying in our beautiful county.
Here’s some of the best coeliac friendly restaurants in Cornwall…
The Stable, Fistral and Falmouth
The Stable was a favourite of ours before we had to consider gluten free food, so when we found out it’s coeliac friendly it became one of our go-to places for food. Whilst the The Stable doesn’t offer a whole gluten free menu, you can get any of their pizzas with a gluten free base. The best bit about The Stable are the pizzas, so it’s a great place to head in Newquay or Falmouth.
Hub, St Ives
Again, living in Hayle, the Hub is usually near the top of the list when deciding on somewhere to eat out. Hub offer their burgers in a gluten free wrap so you can pretty much have anything on the menu and not miss out on the delicious flavour combinations!
Becks, St Ives
One of the best places in Cornwall for fish and chips, and they offer coeliac friendly which is awesome. At Becks you can eat in or take away, we prefer to take them down to Carbis Bay beach for the ultimate seaside summer evening.
The Old Coastguard, Mousehole
This is a great spot in Mousehole to treat yourself to a meal out. They are happy to cater for the gluten free diner, but you may want to call ahead and book a table because it’s a popular spot. Especially in peak season!
Of all the Gluten free restaurants in Cornwall this has to be a top place to visit as they have dedicated gluten free and vegan menus to keep all their diners happy. We would recommend the burgers! With quirky decor and a great atmosphere don’t miss out next time you’re in Truro.
Rick Stein, Porthleven, Newquay, Falmouth and Padstow
Rick Stein can be found across Cornwall with several places to choose in ‘Padstein’. The food is delicious and cater for the gluten free diet so why not choose somewhere with a view like this…

The Grameen, Hayle
If you fancy an indian feast, or a take away, then the Grameen Tandoori is a great place to stop by. Just let them know your dietary requests and they will cook something suitable for you. Found right on the main street of Hayle this is in a great spot for when you’re passing.
