Lunch at Amélies, Porthleven

Amélies has always been one of those places we keep meaning to visit and have never got around to. Last time we were in Porthleven was for the Porthleven Food and Music Festival and there was so much street food on offer we were well and truly filled to the brim.

With Porthleven offering so many high-end restaurants that are always coming recommended this time we made the decision to hunt down a table at Amélies. It may only look small from the outside, but this mighty restaurant has a lot to offer.

Amélies Food

We arrived rather early for lunch so had the pick of the tables. With a small but delicious menu we rather spoilt for choice. With everything from seafood to burgers and wood-fired pizzas.

We opted for the carrot, sweet potato and feta fritters, a charcuterie board and the Amélies steak burger topped with blue cheese. As you can see the food was pleasing to our eyes, and very much pleasing on our bellies…

The Amélies decor has been simply laid out with a large open kitchen, and lots of tables with comfy seating. The restaurant has really high ceilings making it the perfect space for events too. Amélies is a licensed wedding venue, so if you’re looking for Cornish venue then look no further!

If you think the name rings a bell you may have seen them a few years ago featured on the BBCs ‘Chefs on Trial’ where Alex Polizzi made a visit to Porthleven.

Porthleven

Porthleven has long been one of the most visited seaside destinations in Cornwall, and over the past few years the foodie reputation of the town has gone from strength to strength. With lots of wonderful restaurants on offer right on the waters edge lots of people return year after year.
