Living in Angarrack we have already had a little taster of this year’s Christmas lights, with the testing and set up team out and about in the village getting them ready.

The Christmas Lights in Cornwall are almost on! It’s getting to that time in November where more and more of us are getting in the Christmas mood. The festive adverts have started trickling on to the television so it’s getting harder to ignore.

Here’s where to watch all the Christmas light switch ons in Cornwall!

Truro City of Lights, 21st November

With its lantern parade by hundreds of local school children and local artists, this is a unique Cornish Christmas event. The parade begins at 7, with the lights being switched on at 7.30pm. Arrive early if you want a front row position.

Camborne, 24th November

With entertainment and activities from 11am, the town will be in full festive countdown, with the Christmas lights being switched on at 5pm.

Falmouth, 29th November

The local school children join together in a parade through the town down to The Moor for the Christmas lights switch on.

Angarrack, 30th November

One of our favourite collection on Christmas lights in Cornwall, the Angarrack lights are turned on at 7pm. Gather for a visit from Santa and the story of the ’12 Days of Christmas’ in lights throughout the village.

Local tip – walk into the village from Hayle to avoid gridlock as Angarrack doesn’t have a car park.

Bodmin, 30th November

A Children’s parade from 6.30pm down to Mount Folly where there’s Christmas carols and the lights switched on at 7 pm.

Fowey, 30th November

Fowey Festive Market is open from 5.30pm and 8.30pm, at 6.45pm Santa will arrive on the tug accompanied by Fowey Town Band leading the illuminated willow lantern parade through the town. The lights will be turned on at 7pm in front of the church.

Newquay, 30th November

There’s a lantern parade from 6.30pm with the lights being switched on by Pirate FM at 7pm.

Helston, 30th November

From 5 – 9pm there will be craft stalls and traders for the Helston Christmas lights. They will be switched on at 7.30pm with a Santas Grotto for the children.

Cadgwith, 1st December

From 6pm, with a visit from Santa…

Mevagissey, 1st December

The Christmas lights will be turned on at 6pm in Mevagissey.

Padstow, 1st December

The Padstow lights are turned on at 6pm with carol singers on the harbour bandstand.

Penzance Wharfside, 1st December

There’s a Christmas Market from 10am with the Penzance lights being switched on at 4.30pm. The local shops are taking part in a window display competition, and there will be live music and bands throughout the day.

Perranporth, 1st December

Perranporth Christmas lights switch on and lantern parade at 6.30pm.

St Ives, 1st December

With Santa arriving on the lifeboat, be sure not to miss this ‘Cornish’ event!

Looe, 7th December

There are two processions, one from East and West Looe with carols, the Looe Christmas lights will be turned on at 6.30pm.

Coverack, 8th December

Starting from 6.30pm with carols, a lantern parade and Father Christmas.

Gulval, 10th December

Meet at The Coldstreamer in for the lights switch on and walk around the village, from 7pm.

Newlyn, 14th December

As you would expect, a very seaside inspired collection of Christmas lights.

Mousehole, 15th December

Being turned on at 6pm at the quaint seaside cove, expect large crowds in the run-up to Christmas, remember the lights are not on for the 19th December.
