Where to go
Head into Mousehole passing ‘The Old Coastguard’, turn left down a small lane away from the road and after a few bends you will reach the harbour. Follow the harbour around, past ‘The Ship Inn’ and follow the road after the ‘Lobster Pot Hotel’ as it bears right and then left past the Weslyan Chapel. Carry on up the hill, when the road bears right take a left on to the coast path. The track passes between large houses and fields, then at a post the path descends left down some steps and over a brook via some granite boulders.
Then climb some granite steps and through the Kemyel crease nature reserve. Pass a wooden style and just follow the coastline until you reach the rocky headland of Carn-Du which gives you wonderful views of Lamorna Cove. Follow the path down into the village, where you can explore the harbour and have a half way break or picnic. If you want to stick with the coastal path then just return the way you came for a seaview both ways!
Head back across the granite bridge and pick up the coast path again, take the left hand fork up a grassy path and climb through the woodland past the old granite quarries. At a farm house bear right and follow the path through the farm past another farmhouse. The track bears left away from the farm next to a metal gate, cross over a stone stile and cross the field keeping to the left boundary. Over another stone stile and field to a gate, then another stone stile and head for the corner of the wall in front of the farm buildings ahead.
Cross the stile and turn left along the farm track, between the farm buildings, bearing right across a stone stile. The path is on the left of the meadow and passes over a stone stile. Take the narrow path over another stone stile and onto a stone bridge and stepping stones. Follow the path to the left of the farm house before heading across the farmyard and head left through a gate. Across the field to a stile, keep to the left then pass though a gate which leads to a smaller field with a stile in the corner.
Cross the stile and through the field on the left towards a stone stile on the opposite boundary. Cross another field and stile into the next field and pass over a wooden stile next to a metal gate. Turn right on the road and immediately left into Raginnis Farm.
Keep on the farm track to the right of the farmhouse, crossing a stone wall stile, cross the field to the left, over a stile just after the metal gate. Cross the field heading for St. Michael’s Mount to a stone stile. Head across the field to another stile, then cross the field diagonally towards a gap in the hedge and down a few stone steps. Turn left on the track for about 10m then take the narrow path which leads right. Turn right and descend down a steep lane with a stream next to you, then make your way through Mousehole back to your car.
