Where should you head, what should you wear? New Years Eve is always one of those days that creeps up on you after the over-indulgence of Christmas. I don’t even know what day it is any more, all I know is that there is one massive party about to happen right on our Cornish doorsteps.
Here we share with you some of the best places to head to for New Years Eve 2016 in Cornwall!
If you are looking for a fancy dress street party, then Looe is one of the best places to head! The party one has one rule, fancy dress is a must! With fireworks at 6pm and midnight you can head out for a very family friendly early evening.
Newquay offers a great New Years Eve party atmosphere. With many beaches, pubs and street dancing there’s something for everyone. The highlight of the night starts at midnight with a 30 minute long spectacular firework display from Newquay harbour.
If you’ve never been to a New Years Eve party in St Ives then maybe 2016 is the year to experience it! The harbour front and Fore Street turn into one massive party with lots of families out in fancy dress earlier in the evening. The town starts to get a little busier from 8pm, and expect evryone to spill out onto the harbour at midnight for the firework display above the sea.
Kidz R Us are offering costume hire for anyone celebrating in St Ives, so head there for hundreds of costumes to choose!
Secret Garden Party, The Cornish Barn
If you want to head to a not-so-secret party then Penzance is the place to be. With dancing and cocktails how else would you rather see in the new year. There’s outside heating so you’ll be a lot cosier than other parties outside. The Cornish Barn is promising a wonderful celebration, with food, music, and free entry, what’s stopping you?

The Watering Hole, Perranporth
Perched on Perranporth Beach this ‘Rockstar’ party starts at 7.30pm and goes on until 4am! With a Beatles tribute band, champagne reception and a buffet, it’s great value at only £26.

New Years Eve Flowshow, Retallack Resort
If you’re looking for something a little less party scene, and a bit more family friendly, or somewhere to head to first then Retallack is the place to visit. With fireworks from 6pm and the ‘Flowshow’ straight after you can see pro riders take on the wave.
Wherever you choose to spend it, here’s to a wonderful NYE in Cornwall and a prosperous 2017!
