The Porthleven Food and Music Festival 2017

Porthleven Food and Music Festival 2017 was again a roaring success welcoming thousands of people to this small fishing harbour to sample some of the finest cuisine in Cornwall!

This years event was themed ‘under the sea’ and decorations, fancy dress and cakes were decorated to embrace the seaside atmosphere. We popped along on the Saturday morning and made sure we ate our fair share of food samples on the way around.

Here’s a few of our photos from this years Porthleven Food and Music Festival…

Wherever you were on the harbour at Porthleven you couldn’t fail to hear the sound of music bouncing across the sea. From the sea side shanties of The Oggy Men to the recognisable beat of the Samba Band or the unforgettable Cornish rap of Steve Heller!

The atmosphere was enhanced by such great local music and the busking spots around the festival made sure that the party atmosphere carried on well into the evening.

As you would expect this was the highlight of the day, and I would think that would be so for most of the visitors! With most of the big Cornish brands present, and lots of smaller names there was definitely something for everyone. We tried sausage rolls, rocky roads, chicken hot dogs, chocolate brownies and lamb flatbreads (although not in that order!).

There was so much choice and variation we ended up taking samples home too. As well as lots of inspiration for new local suppliers to hunt for in the future…

Demonstations and Tasters

As you would expect from any food event there was a jam packed schedule of chef demos on the main stage across the two days. With lots of well known local chefs from Porthlevens well known and loved restaurants.

Most food stalls and were offering tasters as you went around. So if you timed your visit well then you could easily fit in at least 3 meals…

If you’re one of those people that still has never been to this event make sure that it’s on your radar for next Spring! I don’t know about you be we cannot wait for next year…
