When visiting the Rock Pool Cafe it is all about the location. It just helps having the cute decor, delicious cakes and spectacular sea views. Wonderfully designed on a small corner of land Rock Pool have jam-packed lots of ocean view seats both inside and out so you can really take in the view. Whenever we’re passing there’s always a hubbub of people here at this coastal coffee spot.
We took a walk from Newlyn into Mousehole and stopped off for a halfway tea and cake break, here’s what to expect from Rock Pool Cafe…
Rock Pool Cafe
Whilst the sun was shining on our Sunday afternoon visit it was still a little cold in the wind. With views like this we decided it would be a shame to sit inside, so zipped up the jackets and ordered a hot drink. We sampled the lemon and poppy seed cake and seeded granola bar which came on cute vintage crockery. It was the middle of the afternoon so every seat was taken, including in the very quaint summer house, which we can imagine would be lovely to sit in when the weathers a little damp but you still want to admire the surroundings.
Inside there’s more lovely cute tables, bunting and dressers full of cake and souvenirs. You can take your very own Rock Pool china cup home with you as a memento of your holiday or trip to Mousehole.
Rock Pool Cafe do offer other things besides cake, we saw the crab sandwiches and they looked divine. We will have to return to sample these someday soon!
Mousehole is such a cute harbour village to take a day trip to. All around Mounts Bay there are small coves and harbour to explore with Mousehole really standing out as a holiday destination. With a sandy beach (when the tides out) lots of galleries and fishermans cottages it’s often compared to a small St Ives.
Take the coast path and explore our Mousehole to Lamorna walk.
Find them at The Parade, Mousehole TR19 6PT.
