Top apps for Cornwall

Most people are glued to the apps on their phones or tablets these days, and that doesn’t change when on holiday or searching for things to do or information. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite apps which we think bring that little extra to life in Cornwall. From things to do, to tide times and water quality, these apps are vital for a modern life by the sea. These apps are all free to download, but some do have in-app purchases.

App for Cornwall

Can be broken down into different sections for easy searching including Attractions, Activities, Eat & Drink, Pubs & Clubs, Shopping and What’s On. The app also includes offers and a ‘near me’ search for ease of use.

iWalk Cornwall

This app has some great circular walks from around Cornwall, they provide one for free, then it’s £1.49 per walk you download. The app provides detailed directions, map and further information, so is a great way to explore parts of the county you’ve never seen.

CornishCams

A great visual app to take a sneak peek at some of Cornwall’s top spots, from Land’s End to Lizard. This app provides a live webcam feed along with information about each location, it’s a great way to check out the weather too!

Beach Finder

by RNLI is a great way to find out all the information regarding any RNLI lifeguarded beach. The app explains what the different colour flags mean, any dangers present as well as the dates of lifeguard cover, this is the place to go to find everything out about your holiday destination.

Safer Seas Service

by SAS (Surfers Against Sewage) is an app which provides live updates on water quality at most of the main beaches in the county. You can add specific beaches to your favourites to be kept up to date with the latest spills so you can be sure you are swimming in the cleanest seas.

Magicseaweed

You can search surf spots from around the globe, whether you’re just dreaming of your next surf adventure or setting off on a quick break to catch the swells. This app has all the main Cornish surf spots listed along with tide times, weather, swell forecasts and photographs.
